For many of us, the heart wrenching documentary, Blackfish inspired empathy. For Kelly Slater, it inspired an entire series of surf boards. Partnering with RVCA and artist Kevin Ancell, Slater designed a collection of boards with Orca markings to raise awareness of the issue of wild captures and captive breeding among Orca whales.
